At Scarlow’s Arts and Coffee, sip illy Coffee and Bellocq teas within a light-filled, contemporary gallery space featuring local artists. The Bourgeois Pig bills itself as a ”madcap mashup of small town warmth and counterculture cool,“ and also hosts a gallery space with rotating shows. Check out Metro Coffee Company for locally roasted beans and a casual, comfortable atmosphere, or Copper Cup Coffee Company for their specialty Kyoto cold brew. 

If you’re hungry, all four offer food options ranging from locally sourced baked goods at Scarlow’s to house-made bagels at Metro and sourdough waffles at Copper Cup. 

For a more substantial breakfast, find classics including waffles, omelets, and their famous chicken-fried steak at Sherrie’s Place, once named by Food Network as the “Beast Breakfast in Wyoming.” Eggington’s is also a local favorite, serving a traditional eggs Benedict (and creative variations on the theme) along with Mexican-inspired options like Huevos Eggington’s and breakfast tamales. 

Lunch 

To get fueled for your afternoon adventure, you can find lunch staples like a Reuben sandwich, a burger, or a hearty Cobb salad at The Wooden Derrick. The Steamboat Deli & Outlet features authentic Italian-inspired favorites made from scratch, allowing you to savor the complex flavors of a muffuletta sandwich followed by a slice of tiramisu. 

At the Grant Street Grocery and Market, you’ll discover creative sandwiches like the Pistachio Paradiso (featuring pistachio pesto) made with the highest-quality ingredients. While there, explore Casper’s best selection of cheese, charcuterie, and other fine foods.

For fresh options on the go, try The Wild Lunch Market. This quirky cafe featuring film paraphernalia and movie-inspired dish names (like My Big Fat Greek Salad) offers sandwiches, salads, baked goods, and more made fresh daily and ready to take with you.  

Afternoon Treat

While exploring all the Casper area has to offer, you’ll probably need a break. It’s the perfect time to sample some local sweets. Dinner

The history of Wyoming is closely connected with cattle ranching. As you might expect, that means a great steak isn’t hard to find in Casper. You can sample premium cuts in addition to pork chops, ribs, and other hearty entrees at Wyoming’s Rib & Chop House. For a more casual alternative, head to Branding Iron and try a bison burger or one of dozens of other options from the classic bar and grill menu. 

Casper isn’t just a place for classic American fare, however. At Racca’s Pizzeria Napoletana, you can dig into authentic Italian pizza from a brick-fired oven at Wyoming’s only certified Neapolitan pizzeria. Or, savor the intricate flavors of Nepali and Indian dishes at Himalayan Indian Cuisine. For Asian, try House of Sushi, JS Chinese, or Dsasumo.    

A Drink with Friends

Craft brewing has been booming in Wyoming in recent years, with several breweries opening in Casper. Two great options in the downtown area to sample local brews include Frontier Brewing Company and Taproom and Black Tooth Brewing. Frontier Brewing has a unique pay-by-the-ounce model that lets you try all of their beers without having to order a pint of each. They also feature weekly trivia nights and frequent live music.

The Gaslight Social is another option, offering 37 beers on tap, including selections from several local breweries. While there, pass the time in their arcade or enjoy a game of cornhole in the outdoor area.
